At the graduation party of the Technical Faculty of FAU, Lydia Schwab, M.Sc., received the Award of Fritz-und-Maria-Hofmann-Stiftung for her Master Thesis Einsatz der Partikelschwarmoptimierung zur Bildregistrierung in der medizinischen Bildverarbeitung written under supervision of Dr.-Ing. Manuel Schmitt and Prof. Dr. Rolf Wanka (photo on the right), both Informatik 12. The prize is awarded every year to the best Master Thesis of a graduate.

The scientific essay Multimodal Medical Image Registration Using Particle Swarm Optimization with Influence of the Data’s Initial Orientation from Ms Schwabs research has been published and presented at the international conference 12th IEEE Conf. on Computational Intelligence in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (CIBCB).
